On Nov. 13, Stellantis representatives attended the 12th Annual Above & Beyond Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Detroit Public Safety Foundation, to honor members of the Detroit Police Department (DPD) and Detroit Fire Department (DFD).

A total of 35 first responders were recognized for their distinguished service:

• The Medal of Valor honors individuals for extraordinary bravery in the face of danger.
• The Purple Heart is awarded to those severely injured or killed in the line of duty, highlighting the risks associated with their work.
• The Emergency Medical Merit Award recognizes exceptional service within the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) division.
• The Public Safety Distinguished Service Award, introduced this year, celebrates one member each from the DPD and DFD for going above and beyond in their service to the community. Nominations for this award were submitted by the public.

As a VIP sponsor of the event, Stellantis was proud to have Gregg McWhorter present a Medal of Valor to several courageous Detroit police officers for their heroic response during a crime.
