The first Stellantis Manufacturing Business Resource Group (BRG) was recently launched: Stellantis African Ancestry Network Diaspora (STAAND) at the Detroit Assembly Complex – Jefferson plant.

BRGs are voluntary, employee-led groups that support members by providing resources and opportunities for networking, personal and professional development, cultural awareness, and community engagement. STAAND’s mission statement is to “ensure Stellantis achieves and sustains world class performance in all aspects of our business by providing inspiration, education, exposure, and development of our African American employees.”

“The expansion of our BRGs to our manufacturing facilities is a priority,” said Gregory Hawkins, Stellantis Business Resource Group and Global Integration Manager. “Our manufacturing employees need more opportunities to connect now more than ever.”

Hawkins added that the goal of the BRG “is to create a sense of belonging among our employees in manufacturing, which has shown to significantly increase retention, innovation and performance.”
