FCA announces $2.5 billion investment that will increase its capacity to meet the growing demand for its Jeep® brand vehicles, and create nearly 5,000 new jobs
May
Construction begins on the Detroit Assembly Complex – Mack plant
August
The first piece of steel is raised for the nearly 800,000-square-foot paint shop at Mack
October
The first piece of equipment for the new paint shop is installed
December
FCA raised a Christmas tree to “top off” the new paint shop, marking the placement of the highest beam or structural element of the building, and that the construction milestone was reached safely, without serious injury.
