In honor of Veterans Day, the FCA Foundation, the charitable arm of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, will award nearly $700,000 in grants to six non-profit organizations serving veterans, military and their families.
“The FCA Foundation has a long-standing commitment to veterans, military and their families,” said Christine Estereicher, global chief operating officer for the FCA Foundation. “This Veterans Day, we reconfirm our commitment by joining with our community partners in providing veterans the resources they need to live their lives to the fullest.”
Family Service Association of Howard County (Indiana) – Jackson Street Commons permanent supportive housing for homeless veterans, plus on-site wrap-around services ($75,000)
Soldiers’ Angels – Program to provide food, hygiene kits and housing support to Detroit-area, low-income veterans ($100,000)
Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) – Provides discounted tickets and special performances to veterans, including two at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit using DSO musicians ($90,000)
Team Rubicon – Serves communities by mobilizing veterans to continue their service by helping people prepare, respond and recover from disasters ($100,000)
Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors – Provides care, resources and comfort therapy at no cost to surviving families of fallen soldiers ($200,000)
Veterans Matter – Program to transition homeless veterans to permanent housing through payment of deposit and first-month rent in Northwest Ohio, Southeast Michigan, and in the Rockford/Belvidere, Illinois, area ($100,000)
The FCA Foundation is a global foundation supporting organizations and initiatives that help empower people, build strong, resilient communities and generate meaningful and measurable societal impacts. The Foundation’s grant-making strategy is focused on education, with additional engagement pillars in the United States supporting military, veterans and community service through the company’s Motor Citizens employee volunteer program.
In the United States, the Foundation targets local engagement to communities surrounding the company’s principal manufacturing plants in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
